Description:

In 2005, the National Christmas Tree Association established the Christmas Spirit Foundation to spread the Christmas spirit all year long; soon after they established the Trees for Troops program. The program brought free trees to troops in bases around the world. To date, they have given over 193000 trees to troops and their families.

Since 2005 the NC Christmas Tree Association and our member farms have been apart of this fantastic event. Last year 800 trees were delivered to Fort Campbell and Fort Bragg. We could not do it without the help of Ashe and Avery County ROTC students, Alleghany 4-H students, Upper Mountain Research Center, and Avery County Cooperative Extension Center.

This year Trees for Troops will be donating its 200000 trees. We are thrilled to be apart of this event and have exceeded our goal of giving 500 trees by over 300. Thank you to everyone who helped out with our event and donated trees.
