Avery County 4-H Saddle Club Competes in District Horsebowl
The Avery County 4-H Saddle Club competed in the West District Horsebowl Competition in Mills River on February 10th. The team competed in the Mixed Team Division and won 3rd place overall. On the mixed team were Avery Arnold, Annslee Arnold, Betsy Daniels, and Olivia Woodruff. Avery Arnold was recognized as Individual High Score for Mixed Teams.
A Hippology Contest was also offered and Avery County was well represented by Parker Poore, Olivia Woodruff, Annslee Arnold, Avery Arnold, Betsy Daniels, and Chloe Oaks. Chloe Oaks was awarded with Top Score for the Senior Division.
Led by Coaches, Amy Oaks and Rhonda Arnold, the Avery team has worked diligently for the past two months, practicing twice per week to prepare for the district Horsebowl competition.
Horsebowl is a competition where you use your knowledge of horses and related subject matter to compete on a four-member team against other teams. Teams compete in the district competition then advance to the state level competition.
