Collapse ▲N.C. Cooperative Extension – Avery County Center will host a Pesticide Applicator School on April 5-6, 2023. The school will be held at the Avery Community Center (Heritage Park), 661 Vale Road, Newland, NC. The school begins Wednesday, April 5th, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and concludes on Thursday, April 6th, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Exams will be administered at 1:00 p.m.

Exam Fee Information
In order to legally purchase and apply “restricted use pesticides,” you must be certified and licensed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. If you need a pesticide license to purchase restricted-use pesticides, apply pesticides as a part of your job, or want to be a commercial applicator, you will need to attend the pesticide school and take an exam to obtain a license.
