Collapse ▲The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Avery County Center would like to inform you of the upcoming 2020 private pesticide recertification class “X” scheduled on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. The class will be held at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Avery County Center (661 Vale Road, Newland, NC) from 6–8 p.m. This class has been approved for 2.0 credit hours in sub-class: X.
Because of the current restrictions on public gatherings due to COVID-19, there will be a limit on participants. The class will be offered to private applicators with private pesticide licenses expiring on September 30, 2020, ONLY. If weather permits, the class will be conducted outside, and a total of 25 participants may attend. If not, only 10 participants will be allowed to attend inside the Extension Center. Thus meaning, registration is MANDATORY. The first 10 participants registering will be guaranteed to participate in the class. Please register by calling 828-733-8270 or going online through Eventbrite.
If you are unable to attend the class, you may obtain credits on the N.C. Department fo Agriculture and Consumer Services website. There are several online classes that are available for pesticide applicators to receive necessary credits.
If you are an active private applicator, you must attend 4 hours of recertification training during the three years of your license. You must attend a 2-hour class in sub-category “V” and a 2-hour class in sub-category “X.” These credits must be obtained prior to your recertification date listed on your license. If you do not earn those particular credits, you will have to take an exam to regain your license.
The cut-off date to obtain all credits for the 2020 rotation is September 30, 2020. Please make every effort to attend one class in each subclass before this date.
