North Carolina Cooperative Extension is based at North Carolina's two land-grant institutions, NC State University and NC A&T State University, in all 100 counties and on the Cherokee Reservation. Avery County Cooperative Extension Annual Plant Sale The Avery County Cooperative Extension Center is now conducting the annual plant sale. Orders can be placed now through Friday, April 18, 2008. The plants will be distributed on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 9:00 -12:00 noon. The varieties are: Heirloom Apples, Heirloom and Asian Pears, Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Grapes, Asparagus and Rhubarb.
