First Annual Avery County 4-H Awards Banquet

The Avery County 4-H program had the honor of recognizing our 4-H'ers at our first annual Achievement Banquet on March 2nd for the 2023 program year. The Achievement Banquet was well attended with about 85 people coming out to celebrate the accomplishments of Avery County 4-H'ers.

Avery County 4-H Clubs presented members with project area awards including Horsebowl and Horse Show competitions, Shooting Sports Competitions, Music, Homesteading, and summer programming.

Avery County 4-H'ers had the opportunity to nominate members for several awards within Avery County 4-H. The recipient for Junior 4- H'er of the Year was Olivia Woodruff.

Avery Arnold received the award for Intermediate 4-H'er of the Year and Chloe Oaks was nominated as the Senior 4-H'er of the Year. The Avery County 4-H Saddle Club received the award for Service Project of the Year for their hard work during the Avery A&H Fair managing the Livestock Tent.

Chloe Oaks, along with Betsy Daniels, were both recognized also for their participation and wins at regional and national Horsebowl and Horse Show Competitions.

Avery County 4-H honored the many volunteers that make 4-H possible including all club volunteers and summer programming employees and volunteers. Mrs. Amy Oaks was nominated as the Avery County 4-H Volunteer of the Year.

The Avery County 4-H JAM Club gave an incredible performance during the awards program and showed off the progress they have all made learning the guitar, mandolin, and fiddle during the 2023 program year.
