If you area private applicator and your license expires in 2018, you are required toobtain 4 hours of continuing education classes. Private applicators are required to attend both a Safety Training class(sub-class V) and an X category class; each class receives 2 hours ofcredit. 

 IF YOU DONOT COMPLETE the required hours of training, within the three-yearrecertification period, you will then be required to pass a written exam inorder to maintain your license.  Thelicense fee for a private applicator is $10.00 every three years.

Description:

If you need a pesticide license in order to purchase restricted use pesticides, if you apply pesticides as a part of your job, or you are or want to be a commercial applicator, the Avery County Cooperative Extension Center will be hosting a Pesticide School at Mayland Community College, Newland Campus on  Wednesday-Thursday, April 11th and 12th, 2018.  

On Wednesday, April 11th the school will start promptly at 8:30 am and will end approximately at 3:30 pm.  On Thursday, April 12th the school will reconvene at 8:30 am and will end at 12:00 noon.  

A fee will be charged to attend the school.  Also, fees will be charged for the test.

The school will prepare you to take the test on the afternoon of Thursday, April 12th at 1 pm.  In order to attend the school, you MUST register with the Avery County Cooperative Extension Center by calling 828-733-8270 or by visiting the center at 805 Cranberry Street in Newland.
