Mason Jordan of the Backroad Sharp Shooters 4-H Club has been selected as one of two North Carolina 4-H members to serve as National 4-H Shootings Sports Ambassadors for 2021. Mason will complete training at the state and national levels and use the training he receives to spread the word about 4-H and the 4-H Shooting Sports Program. He will actively seek opportunities to speak to civic organizations and public officials to inform them about all the 4-H Shooting Sports Program has to offer. He will also volunteer at events to help develop even more civic awareness of our community and state.

Mason Jordan

Orange County 4-H Agent Jonathon Smith believes Mason will achieve much in this leadership role. “Mason believes in service as his actions as a 4-H member have demonstrated. He has worked with his own family and six other families in his community to develop disaster communication plans and emergency kits. He has assisted us with other 4-H service projects including the National 4-H Day of Service project where we improved the landscape around the Cedar Grove community sign. He serves as a shooting sports club representative on the Orange 4-H County Council. Mason works hard, has a great personality, and will represent 4-H well as an ambassador. I believe this opportunity will maximize and grow his talents while allowing him to share his passion for shooting sports with the 4-H network and the public more broadly.”

Mason is a rising 11th-grade student at Orange High School. He is the son of David and Jennifer Jordan. His 4-H club leaders are Mark Rogers and Alan Forrest. He competes in archery, shotgun, and rifle.
