Avery County’s Landscape Contractors Continuing Education Workshop

The Avery County Cooperative Extension Center will be hosting the annual NC Landscape Contractors Continuing Educational Workshop on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Best Western Hotel, Banner Elk (1615 Tynecastle Hwy). The workshop will begin with registration at 8am and will conclude at 5pm.

Topics of Discussion: 1) Pesticide Safety: Keeping You Legal, Record Keeping, Personal Protective Equipment, Labeling, Understanding Health Issues with Pesticide Application and Long-Term Usage; 2) Myths about Planting Trees in the Landscape; 3) Getting the Most out of Perennial Color in the Landscape; 4) Firewise Landscaping; 5) Calibration; 6)TRIAGE!!!!! Pest Management in the Landscape

The registration fee will be $25.00 and will be collected the day of the meeting. Lunch will be provided.

THIS WORKSHOP WILL PROVIDE CONTRACT LANDSCAPERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN 7 CREDITS; THE 7 CREDITS ARE REQUIRED TO MEET THE JULY 31ST, 2018 DEADLINE.

Also, pesticide credits have been applied for.
